Bagida’waad Alliance
Bagida’waad Alliance began as an Indigenous-led not-for-profit on March 8, 2018.
Bagida’waad means “they set a net” in Anishinaabemowin.
As once-abundant whitefish populations declined, the Alliance formed to shine a light on climate change and its impact on lake habitats and land ecosystems.
Seeking to safeguard the future for generations to come, it has become a circle of learning, action, connection, weaving together culture, education and stewardship.

AkiTours brings a wealth of cultural and ecological knowledge, species monitoring and citizen science opportunities to people of all ages by offering experiences led by Aki Guardians and by training youth in outdoor educational programs through hands-on experiences.
