Downhill skier and sailor Heather Reid is an outdoor recreation enthusiast and former HR Professional in Leadership and Talent Management. She brings her head, heart and hands to the beautiful Beaver Valley and encourages others to do the same.
For more than 25 years after purchasing a local heritage stone schoolhouse ,Heather has shared the beauty of Grey County and the Beaver Valley with her children, fostering a deep appreciation for our region. This connection fuels her passion for volunteering and her commitment to community-led responses that keep the beautiful Beaver Valley a sustainable, equitable, and a joyful place to thrive.
Heather’s leadership recently took her to the ACTivate program, representing the BVDS Core Team alongside the Gros Morne Institute for Sustainable Tourism (GMIST) and the Coady Institute. Her favourite moment at the in-person training sessions in Newfoundland was travelling to Cow Head to meet community members, especially youth theatre participants, who exemplified people of all ages engaged in leading their community transformatively with passion and purpose.
Professionally, Heather currently provides tailored, personalized coaching to students, new graduates and those in career transitions to ensure they are prepared to land the jobs they want to succeed. Her focus is helping young adults clarify their career aspirations and communicate impactfully through resume and interview preparation and networking.
