We are a family-oriented group of believers in Jesus Christ and we are organized “Congregationally” which means the congregation itself (with the leadership and guidance of Elders and Pastors), is free to follow Jesus as the “Head” of the Church as it seeks to live and put into practice the teachings of Jesus and the Scriptures. We first formed and met in September of 1988 gathering at Macphail Memorial Elementary School, Flesherton. We “turned the sod” for a new meeting place in 1989 and held our first worship service there in 1991. We also have a second “meeting place” campus in the town of Flesherton which houses the Flesherton and Area Foodbank.
Glenelg Nordic is a volunteer-run cross-country with about 25 km of regularly groomed and track set trails for classic skis only near Markdale, Ontario. The trails are in Grey County Forest #24 and on nearby private land passing over moderate hills through hardwood forests and a variety of terrain.
Since 1985, Greenhawk has grown from a small trailer serving the racing community on a racetrack in Toronto, Ontario to become the largest equine supplier in Canada with locations stretching from coast to coast, as well as a vibrant catalogue and Internet business. Founded by Gordon K. Russell who was later joined by his son Ian, Greenhawk grew steadily throughout the 1980's and 1990's, and then, following a carefully crafted strategic plan, built 28 locations from 2003 thru 2011 and continues this growth today. Today, Greenhawk and its franchise partners employ over 300 people and is represented in almost every province in Canada. Greenhawk is a proud supporter of hundreds of grass roots equine events across Canada and the sponsor of the prestigious Canadian Show Jumping Championships held every year at the Royal Winter Fair, where Canada's top riders compete for the top prize of $100,000.
The Grey Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Association (GBACA) is a volunteer organization which was founded in 2007 to develop Culinary Tourism in Grey and Bruce Counties. Our Mission is to promote local regional foods through Networking, Marketing and Education. Our membership includes farmers, restaurateurs, food processors, food distributors, farmers markets, tourist operations, cooking schools and families choosing to support their community by buying local food.Â
We work in collaboration with the counties of Grey and Bruce and Foodlink Grey Bruce to showcase and promote our area. One of the ways that we promote our members is by producing the Grey-Bruce Agriculture and Culinary Map which displays the locations of members, product sold and their contact information. The map is a very popular item both with local residents and tourists who visit our area. Copies of the map are available at Farmers™ Markets, Visitor Information Centres, Public Libraries in Grey and Bruce Counties and at various businesses.
